Les Chaudieres

About your stay

It’s hard not to gaze at even the most quiet corners of Les Chaudieres without a gasp of awe.  A large roof overhang shelters the open-air living/dining room, a marvelous setting for al fresco entertaining. The main living complex of the home opens completely on three sides.

No walls obstruct the views or the constant soft cooling breezes. The natural wood ceiling soars to a peak 45 feet above.

Tastefully decorated, this entertainment complex of over 990 square feet has distinct living, reading, lounging and dining areas.

Stone steps from the upper terrace lead down to the large elliptical swimming pool at the tip of the peninsula.

Les Chaudieres is fully furnished, including bath linens, pool towels, robes, hair dryers, and high speed wifi.

"The Big Room"

The Big Room is the heart of the villa, where guests gather to chat, play games, enjoy their meals, listen to music, dance, or even sneak in a nap.  A stereo system brings your favorite music to life from the Big Room all the way to the pool, on BlueSound, Sonos, or your own Ipod.

Stout wooden beams and hand-laid stone walls stretch up to 45 feet high, feeling simultaneously both grand and cozy.  The entire room is open on three sides and offers an unobstructed view of the glimmering sea and brilliant green mountains.  The open structure allows you to be a part of the tropical environment with protection from sun and rain, while still inviting St. Lucia’s frequent soft cooling breezes.

The Pool

Following the walkway from the Big Room toward the ocean, the deep fish-shaped pool is set in a red tiled patio surrounded by colorful local flora.  The pool babbles quietly as cool water overflows from a 19th century cauldron once used for sugar refinery on the island. Lying on the outermost point of the promontory, the entire patio takes advantage of the beautiful view of ocean sunsets and the wildly arching mountains beyond.  Brightly colored lounging chairs face out to the bay and a small shaded table is perfect for resting cocktails and playing a game of cards.

Sleeping Arrangements

The bedroom wing of the home, including three bedrooms and two baths and one outdoor shower, extends along a tiled and shaded walkway.  Each bedroom’s doors open to a lush green hillside and allow the ocean breeze to flutter through every chamber, keeping it cool and comfortable.  The Master Bedroom and Map Room each have a king bed, and the third bedroom has both a twin and a queen bed, with two twin futons and frames also available, as well as a crib.  In all, the villa can comfortably accommodate eight to nine people. The Map Room and middle bedroom share a dressing room and bathroom.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom with a king four poster bed is flanked by a large dressing area and tiled bathroom.  Through an inner door, a private outdoor shower is secluded in a lush garden terrace that can be made accessible to all guests.  Decorated tastefully with wooden furnishings and a bookshelf full of good reads, the room is open and inviting, yet charmingly intimate.  The worst part of your morning will be convincing yourself to get out of your lavishly comfortable bed for a delicious breakfast prepared by our talented chefs.

Map Room

Named for the many historic maps of St. Lucia and the West Indies on its walls, the Map Room is secluded on the far end of the villa.  A luxurious king four poster bed and tasteful wooden furnishings adorn the room between intriguing charts of the island. When the curtains are drawn back, a scenic view of the mountains beyond will greet you every morning.

Middle Bedroom

The beauty of St. Lucia is best shared with friends.  This spacious room can accommodate up to four guests, and provides more than enough room for all guests to arrange their luggage and spread out without ever feeling cramped.  The room features both a twin and a queen bed, and can also accommodate an additional twin. As with all rooms in Les Chaudieres, this room displays the beautiful red tiled floor, hand-laid stone walls, and a gorgeous view of the St Lucia’s rainforest.

Bathrooms

The Master Bedroom has its own bathroom with an indoor bath/shower, as well as private access to the secluded outdoor shower, which can be unlocked to provide access to all guests.  The Middle Bedroom and Map Room share a bathroom and shower.

Kitchen

The kitchen’s blue cabinets and red tiled floor give it a uniquely inviting atmosphere.  Open and bright, the kitchen has a large man-sized window that looks out on the courtyard.  From here, your chef par excellence, Christy, will create the most fantastic meals using the best that St. Lucia has to offer.  The kitchen is fully equipped with electric and gas appliances and is complete with a large refrigerator/freezer, double sinks, and gas stove. All utensils and cookware are provided for your use, including juicer, blender, ice cream maker and microwave.

The kitchen and baths rely on both a solar hot water system and an electric backup heater.

The caretaker’s rooms are on the lower level, along with a workshop, storage room, and laundry facilities.
